Percy Jackson the Lightning Thief: Percy Jackson is about a kid that is a half-blood that goes on a journey to save his mom and the gods from having a war. On the journey he meets Grover a friend from school that is a satyr and Annabel. She is another half-blood. These three friends go on a adventure to save Percy's Mom and stop a war of the gods. The person that started this all was Luke a camper.
House On Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros: Is a novel about little girl name Esperanza and about the journey she takes to adulthood. Esperanza is about 11 to 12 years old in the beginning of the book and she just move to her new house on mango street. This is her first time leaving in a house that she owns, she usual lives in apartments which are own by land lords. It isn't the dream house that her parents had promise but it was a step from her last one. One day Esperanza dream of leaving the house on mango street and having a house of her own. She leaves with her mom, dad, sister named Nenny, and her younger bothers named Carlos and Kiki. She notices that the women in mango are all the same lock up or abuse by there husband or both. She didn't want to end up the same way as the women in the neighborhood. Since she has gone to somewhere new so she has to make new friends and she does. They're names are Lucy, Rachael, and Sally. Esperanza leaves and goes to college with her talent of writing. Sally gets married at a young age because she want to leave her abusive dad.
To me this book was ok because I was lost during most of the book because of they way it was written. The vignettes were difficult to understand. This was the second time I have ever read this types of books.
